Mom, Cyndi Corbett, participated in the most recent CIT Training on Thursday, January 29th at the Saint Mary’s Boat Club in Halifax. Twenty-two city police officers participated in a one week training session together with the Mobile Crisis Team to obtain specialized education about responding to situations involving mental illness.
Cyndi came to present to the group as part of the lived experience portion of the program. She spoke about her son’s personal experience with first responders during an acute psychotic episode. She also shared information about crisis response from the perspectives of the families she and her husband help to support.
